In mining facilities, constant abrasion and wall-thickness loss in process lines often cause recurring leaks that must be repaired without interrupting production. At a copper plant in Chile, failures in stainless-steel and HDPE pipelines were resolved using REP couplings, enabling 10–15-minute interventions and avoiding shutdowns of 3 to 5 hours.
