Case study

Failure in HDPE pipeline with limited access

Application
marines
Pipe Type (material + DN/OD)
HDPE — DE110
Pain/Context
Limited access and no possibility of welding
Sector
Water supply / Local distribution / Urban installations
Country
Spain
Keywords
repair, HDPE, urban installations, reduced access, no-weld intervention

In small-diameter HDPE networks, when welding is not possible or the working space is extremely reduced, any failure requires direct action on the affected point. In an installation in Alicante, the repair of a 110-mm HDPE pipe was completed using a REP 107–111 coupling, whose lateral opening allowed a quick intervention with no additional dismantling.
